Govt Committed to Empower Youth through Digital Initiatives: Shaza


Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that Pakistan is embarking on a journey of national digital transformation. Addressing the ‘Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit’, she emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering the youth, which is seen as a significant asset to the nation.



According to Radio Pakistan, Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted plans to train young people in low, medium, and high-tech courses to equip them with employable skills. The minister mentioned that technology will be utilized to broaden access to skill development opportunities for a vast number of individuals.



The minister revealed that Pakistan will host a two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment Summit this month in collaboration with the Digital Corporation Organization of Saudi Arabia. This summit is expected to attract over three hundred international participants.



Shaza Fatima also mentioned that plans are underway for the inauguration of Islamabad IT Park on the 14th of August this year. Additionally, she noted that a proposal for an IT park in South Punjab is currently being finalized.



In another event in Islamabad, the minister reiterated the government’s focus on digital literacy. She announced plans to establish two hundred and fifty e-rozgaar centers across the country within the year.
