Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Wednesday) inaugurated multiple projects, including a nursing college, cricket stadium, and cotton research institute at Islamia University Bahawalpur.
He inaugurated a nursing college equipped with teaching facilities of international standard. The college will not only be helpful in capacity building of the existing human resource in the nursing sector, but will also provide employment opportunities to the youth of the South Punjab.
To promote cricket in South Punjab, the Prime Minister inaugurated a cricket stadium at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed campus of the university. Besides, he launched a solar project with a capacity of generating 2.5 megawatt of electricity to fulfill IUB’s energy needs and additional electricity will be provided to Multan Electric Power Company. It is pertinent to mention that per unit of electricity to be generated from this project will cost 1.7 rupee. This project will collectively contribute 455 million rupees to the national exchequer in 25 years.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated National Cotton Breeding Institute and Intercropping Research Centre to bring innovation and new technology to enhance agri produce through research.
