Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the BJP-led Indian regime is making relentless efforts to mislead the global community regarding the true situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Radio Pakistan, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas stated that India, in its desperation, sometimes blames Pakistan and at other times targets the Hurriyat camp to deflect attention from state terrorism, political injustice, and grave human rights violations. He highlighted that the territory is experiencing an increase in arbitrary arrests during widespread cordon and search operations and house raids, which are meant to instill fear among Kashmiris.
He further mentioned that repressive laws are being used to stifle dissent and crush the Kashmiris’ just demand for the right to self-determination. The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has also taken action by writing a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, drawing attention to the rapidly worsening situation in the occupied territory.
The letter pointed out that Indian forces are resorting to extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and collective punishment. It urged Guterres to play a decisive role in resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
