Info Secretary Highlights Radio Pakistan’s Efforts in Raising Public Awareness


Islamabad: Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Ambreen Jan, has commended Radio Pakistan’s crucial role in raising public awareness on national issues, particularly during natural disasters.



According to Radio Pakistan, Ambreen Jan highlighted in an exclusive interview that the broadcaster has effectively communicated important issues, such as climate change, in various regional languages. This effort aims to enlighten the masses about environmental threats and the government’s effective measures to mitigate them.



During the COVID-19 pandemic, Radio Pakistan initiated the “Radio School” program to disseminate essential information and updates, ensuring that even the most remote areas received timely messages. Ambreen Jan noted that the broadcaster is running a dedicated channel on environmental issues and expressed hope for its further development to address contemporary challenges.



In response to questions about Radio Pakistan’s adaptability to the rapidly changing media landscape, Ambreen Jan acknowledged the significance of its social media platforms. These platforms have been instrumental in delivering accurate and credible news, amassing millions of followers and serving as prompt sources of information.



Ambreen Jan also praised the efforts of Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, the current Director General of Radio Pakistan, and his team for their strategic shift from traditional broadcasting to digital platforms. This transition is aimed at strengthening Radio Pakistan’s engagement with the youth of Pakistan and enhancing the delivery of information in a more interactive manner.
