Interior Minister Calls for International Collaboration to Combat Terrorism


Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stressed the global community’s support for Pakistan in combating terrorism, as it is not just Pakistan’s war. He was talking to a US delegation led by US Department of State Senior Official Eric Meyer, which called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.



According to Radio Pakistan, discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in the fields of counter-terrorism, anti-smuggling, and anti-narcotics. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that Pakistan faces challenges similar to the United States, particularly concerning illegal immigrants.



The Interior Minister emphasized the importance of the upcoming Joint Counter-Terrorism Dialogue, set to be held in Islamabad in June, as a crucial platform for enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts.



Eric Meyer expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its cooperation in the arrest of the wanted terrorist Sharifullah. Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi noted that American companies could benefit from the significant investment opportunities presented at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.



Eric Meyer showed interest in the opportunities provided under the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, which he is attending as the leader of the US delegation. Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism that the visit of the US delegation would prove to be a significant milestone in fostering bilateral relations.
