Islamabad: Iran has assured full cooperation in bringing to justice the perpetrators responsible for the deaths of eight Pakistani citizens and in repatriating the victims’ mortal remains.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who provided this assurance while offering condolences on the tragic death of the Pakistanis in Iran. The Iranian Foreign Minister also briefed Ishaq Dar on the April 12 talks between Iran and the US in Oman, which the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan appreciated and encouraged.
Meanwhile, a special flight carrying the bodies of the eight Pakistani laborers who were killed in the Sistan province of Iran arrived at Bahawalpur airport on Thursday morning. The victims included five individuals from Khanqah Sharif, two from Ahmad Pur Sharqia, and one from Musafir Khana. Following their arrival, the bodies were transported to their native areas via ambulances.
