Jam Kamal expresses Govt’s commitment to boost textile


Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan has expressed the government’s commitment to boost textile and leather industry by facilitating it with modern and eco-friendly technology.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fifth International Exhibition in Karachi today, said that textile and leather products account for 60 percent of Pakistan’s national exports.

He said Pakistani exporters are meeting global standards of environmental friendliness and transparency.

The Minister said small and medium scale industries are adapting themselves to global standards.

He said the Government is taking steps to provide energy to industries at cheaper rates.

Addressing the ceremony Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that Pakistan is a safe country for investment and there are huge investment opportunities available in various sectors in the country.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while addressing the ceremony said the exhibition is evident of the best business and creativity, skills and abilities
of our country.

He said Pakistan is on the journey of economic development and such events are important to promote linkages with the global business community.
