Pak-Turkiye Relations Rapidly Moving Towards Economic Partnership: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye are swiftly advancing towards a comprehensive economic partnership. This statement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the Constitutional Court of Turkiye, led by its President, Kadir Ozkaya, in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the potential benefits both nations could reap by learning from each other's experiences, particularly in enhancing citizens' access to justice. He highlighted the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Turkish delegation's visit as a pivotal step towards achieving this objective. The Prime Minister also noted the significant potential for exchanging experiences in leveraging digital technology for the swift dispensation of justice.

Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif identified several areas where Pakistan and Turkiye could collaborate, including climate change, counter-terrorism, immigration laws, and their implementation. He underscored the mutual benefits of such cooperation in strengthening both countries' institutional frameworks and policies.

During the meeting, Kadir Ozkaya, President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, expressed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation in Pakistan. He remarked that the affection for Pakistan runs deep in the hearts of Turkish citizens. Ozkaya also conveyed the Constitutional Court of Turkiye's readiness to embark on a pilot project with Pakistan, aimed at sharing its extensive experience.

The meeting was graced by other notable attendees, including judges from the Constitutional Court of Turkiye, Ridvan Gulec and Mr. Recai Akyel, as well as the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Naziroglu. High-ranking Pakistani officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi also participated in the discussions.
