Pakistan and Turkiye Commit to Strengthening Defence Partnership

Islamabad: Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, met with Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad, where both nations pledged to bolster their defence ties.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting underscored the enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, rooted in a shared history and mutual trust. General Tokel commended Pakistan's role in promoting regional peace and stability, while highlighting the significance of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Military Dialogue Group as a vital platform for enhancing defence and military cooperation between the two countries.

General Tokel reiterated Turkiye's commitment to regional peace and stability and stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation. The Defence Minister expressed gratitude for the unwavering support provided by Turkiye's leadership and people, particularly during difficult times. Both parties discussed matters of mutual interest and explored avenues to enhance defence collaboration further.
