Islamabad: Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have signed a Joint Declaration at the conclusion of the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Council to further deepen, diversify, and institutionalize the Strategic Partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye. The signing ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the ceremony, Pakistan and Turkiye exchanged twenty-four Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and Protocols to enhance cooperation and cement relations in multiple fields. The two countries exchanged four MoUs for cooperation in the defense sector, and additional MoUs and a Protocol in the power, energy, and mining sectors. Further cooperation was agreed upon with three MoUs in trade and industrial sectors, two agreements in water and seed production, and two MoUs in scientific education and training.
The agreements also included two MoUs in the banking sector, one MoU for promoting bilateral cooperation in religious services and education, one MoU in halal food, and one MoU to enhance cooperation in media and public relations. Legal, health, and pharmaceutical sectors were also covered with the signing of respective MoUs. Additionally, an MoU was signed to promote cooperation in the aerospace industry, along with two agreements in cultural cooperation and co-production.
Moreover, two MoUs were exchanged by the Pakistan-Turkiye Business Forum to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the business sector.
