In the fourth One-Day International of five match series, Pakistan beat New Zealand by 102 runs in Karachi last night.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 334 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs.
In reply, New Zealand were all out for 232 runs in 43.4 overs.
Babar Azam who scored 102 runs was declared player of the match. He became the fastest batter to complete 5,000 one-day international runs breaking SA’s Hashim Amla’s record.
After winning this match, Pakistan has achieved number one position in the ICC ODI rankings for the first time since the introduction of ICC’s official team ranking system in 2005 after winning this match.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistan cricket team on securing the a top slot in the ICC ranking.
In a tweet, he said making the nation proud was skipper Babar Azam who earned the feat of completing the fastest 5000 runs in ODIs and leading Pakistan cricket to that glory.
