Pakistan Launches Comprehensive National Intellectual Property Strategy.


Islamabad: Pakistan has unveiled its National Intellectual Property Strategy, marking a significant step towards fostering innovation and creativity within the country. The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), successfully concluded a two-day series of consultative sessions aimed at developing this comprehensive strategy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chairman of IPO-Pakistan, Farukh Amil, underscored the organization’s commitment to encouraging a culture that respects intellectual property rights. He particularly highlighted the importance of integrating intellectual property education into both industries and academia, noting that raising awareness among youth and students is crucial for promoting innovation and creativity. Amil also expressed his gratitude to WIPO for their vital partnership and expertise, which have been instrumental in shaping Pakistan’s National IP Strategy.

sted a series of insightful panel discussions focusing on three critical areas: the main challenges and recommendations for the National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS), the impact of IP strategies on Pakistan’s geo-economic situation, and the way forward for the development of the National IP Strategy. Renowned experts and stakeholders participated in these discussions, offering valuable insights and recommendations to guide the strategy’s development.
