Karachi: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reasserted Pakistan's resolve to defeat nefarious designs of its enemies, while continuing to pursue peace, dialogue, and diplomacy for settlement of disputes.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister was addressing the passing out parade of the 125th midshipmen and 33rd Short Service Commission course at Pakistan Naval Academy. He emphasized Pakistan's emergence as a responsible, peace-promoting state globally, highlighting its mediation efforts that led to the signing of the Islamabad MoU between the United States and Iran.
The Prime Minister noted the recent visit of the Iranian President to Pakistan as an indicator of strong bilateral ties and Iran's acknowledgment of Pakistan's crucial role in regional peace. Addressing security challenges, he mentioned India's covert tactics and the use of proxies, as well as the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Afghanistan.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the causes of the Kashmiri and Palestinian people. He also stressed the importance of maritime security, assuring support for strengthening the Pakistan Navy to ensure national defense and stability in the maritime region.
The Prime Minister lauded the Navy's efforts during last year's Marka-e-Haq and the conduct of Operation Mahafiz ul Behr, which secured vital energy supplies amid regional security challenges. He urged young cadets to follow the legacy of naval heroes and expressed joy at the presence of international cadets, hoping their experiences would forge lasting bonds between their countries and Pakistan.
