Islamabad: Pakistan will host a Peacekeeping Ministerial preparatory meeting in partnership with the Republic of Korea in Islamabad next week.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a UN Security Council briefing in New York, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, discussed Pakistan’s significant contribution to the future of UN peacekeeping initiatives. He emphasized the country’s commitment to global peace efforts and cooperation with international partners.
Ambassador Ahmad paid tribute to the 4,423 peacekeepers who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, including 181 Pakistani peacekeepers. He highlighted the importance of honoring their memory, bravery, and service to global peacekeeping missions.
