Pakistani Freelancers Drive Surge in Foreign Exchange Earnings

Islamabad: The growing role of Pakistani freelancers in the global market has led to a significant increase in foreign exchange. Pakistani freelancers earned up to eight hundred fifty-six million dollars by the third quarter of the current fiscal year, marking an increase of 50 percent in foreign exchange earnings. An increase of 289 million dollars has been recorded compared to 567 million dollars in the third quarter of the previous financial year.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chairman of the Pakistan Freelancers Association, Ibrahim Amin, highlighted that thousands of people are joining the freelancing market through government and non-government training programs every month. He emphasized that the Ministry of IT, Pakistan Software Export Board, and the Special Investment Facilitation Council are providing a conducive environment for freelancing.

In his remarks, former Chairman of the Pakistan Software House Association, Zohaib Khan, noted that Pakistan's IT sector has experienced significant growth over the past three years since the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). He mentioned that recent initiatives by the State Bank have facilitated IT exporters, freelancers, and startups.

The IT sector is on a path of continuous growth and stability due to effective reform measures and policy continuity of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
