Ankara: The Pakistani Embassy in Ankara marked Defence and Martyrs’ Day with grandeur, paying tribute to the sacrifices and bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces. Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler was the chief guest at the event, which was attended by senior Turkish civilian and military officials, diplomats, defence attach©s, media representatives, and members of the Pakistani community.
According to Radio Pakistan, Yasar Guler lauded the deep brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye during his speech at the event. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening defence and strategic cooperation between the two countries. Honouring the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, the Minister reaffirmed Turkiye’s unwavering solidarity with Pakistan on all core issues. He also expressed his resolve to expand defence cooperation, joint production, training, and counter-terrorism efforts.
In his address, Pakistani Ambassador Dr Yusuf Junaid highlighted the significance of September 6 for Pakistan and commended the courage and unity of the Pakistani people. He stressed that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
