Pakistan’s Progress to Be Achieved Through Collective Efforts, Says Prime Minister


London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the goal of a rapidly progressing and prospering Pakistan will be achieved through collective efforts, the prayers of the entire nation, and relentless hard work.



According to Radio Pakistan, during a conversation with the media in London on Sunday, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the first annual overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad. He highlighted that this event serves as a crucial platform for expatriates to reconnect with their homeland and provides them with an opportunity to express their legitimate concerns and issues, which need to be addressed promptly.



The Prime Minister acknowledged the dedication of overseas Pakistanis in enhancing the country’s reputation through their tireless efforts and hard work in their respective countries of residence. He also noted the substantial economic contributions made by overseas Pakistanis, who send billions of dollars in remittances annually. This year, there has been a significant increase in these remittances.



Addressing questions regarding his recent visit to Belarus, Shehbaz Sharif revealed that an understanding has been reached with Belarusian leadership to send 150,000 skilled workers from Pakistan to Belarus.



In response to another query, he urged the interim Afghan government to adhere to the Doha Accord, which prohibits the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for acts of terrorism. He expressed concerns about terrorist organizations like the TTP, which are operating from Afghanistan and have been responsible for the martyrdom of innocent Pakistanis.



Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the sacrifices of the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, and other law enforcement agencies will not be in vain. He called on the interim Afghan authorities to take immediate action to control these terrorist organizations operating within Afghanistan and prevent them from using Afghan soil for terrorist activities.
