PM Commits to Uniform Development Across Federating Units


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the federal government’s dedication to ensuring equitable development across all federating units in the country. He made these remarks while attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that the advancement of all provinces is integral to Pakistan’s overall progress. Highlighting a notable increase in funding for Balochistan, he cited the dualization of the N-25 Highway as a testament to the government’s commitment to the region’s development. This highway project, expected to be completed within two years, is funded through the national exchequer and underscores the government’s resolve to prioritize Balochistan’s growth.



During his address, Prime Minister Sharif noted the significant achievements of his government over the past year, including an improved rating from the international agency Fitch. He also lauded efforts made towards the beautification of Islamabad and stressed the importance of continuing these initiatives.



Earlier in the ceremony, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed attendees that the underpass is set to open for traffic within thirty-five days. He addressed the issue of traffic congestion in Islamabad, stating that solutions are being devised to ease traffic flow. Additionally, the Interior Minister mentioned that the Capital Development Authority has formulated a parking plan to address the rising traffic in commercial areas, with construction already underway for a parking plaza in the Blue Area.
