Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited the leading American multinational IT company, Afiniti, to set up a world-class call center in Pakistan, catering to both national and international customers. He extended this invitation during a meeting with a four-member delegation from Afiniti, led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Jerome Kapelus, in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister welcomed Afiniti’s interest in further investing in Pakistan’s IT sector. He emphasized that the country’s talented IT workforce possesses the potential to compete on a global scale. The Prime Minister highlighted his personal involvement in monitoring programs designed to equip the nation’s youth with skills in IT, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technologies. He also mentioned that the government is providing all necessary facilities to IT companies to achieve a target of $25 billion in exports from the IT sector.
Jerome Kapelus remarked on the suitability of Pakistan’s IT sector for investment and business, noting that more than one thousand highly talented Pakistani experts are currently employed at Afiniti Pakistan. He praised the immense potential of the Pakistani youth to contribute to the development of the IT sector, attributing Afiniti’s success in the region to the professional and well-trained workforce from Pakistan.
The delegation expressed their admiration for the hard work and talent of Pakistani IT professionals, acknowledging their significant contributions to the sector’s development.
