Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the importance of revitalizing regional cooperation to promote connectivity, sustainable development, and shared prosperity among the peoples of South Asia. He emphasized these points during a meeting with the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, who paid a farewell visit to him in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast commitment to the SAARC Charter. He acknowledged the Secretary General's dedicated service and leadership in advancing regional cooperation during his tenure. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Sarwar's efforts and wished him success in his future endeavors.
In response, the SAARC Secretary General extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the support Pakistan provided during his time as the head of SAARC, highlighting the cooperative spirit and collaborative efforts that marked his tenure.
