Islamabad: Pakistan received record remittances of 4.1 billion dollars last month, which are the highest ever in a month. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the country received 28.1 billion dollars in remittances, reflecting a thirty-three percent increase. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending record remittances of 4.1 billion dollars in the month of March.
According to Radio Pakistan, a statement released by the Prime Minister’s office highlighted that this is a thirty-seven point four percent increase in remittances compared to March last year. Referring to the Overseas Pakistanis convention in Islamabad, the Prime Minister noted that the record increase in remittances is a testament to the dedication, commitment, and confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s economy and government’s policies.
The Prime Minister described overseas Pakistanis as a valuable asset to the country, acknowledging that they work tirelessly abroad, not only bringing pride to the nation but also strengthening the country’s economy through remittances. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the entire nation is proud of overseas Pakistanis and assured that the present government is fully committed to providing them with all the necessary facilities.
