President Assents to Anti-Dumping Duties Amendment Bill

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has given assent to the Anti-Dumping Duties Amendment Bill 2025. The approval of the bill signifies that the anti-dumping duties will be enforced starting from the 1st of July, 2020.

According to Radio Pakistan, the bill was forwarded to the President after successfully passing through both the National Assembly and the Senate. The legislation aims to provide legal clarity on the application of anti-dumping duties, specifically targeting projects funded by Chinese grants.

The decision to introduce this amendment emerged from a meeting held in October 2022, which focused on reviewing the progress of projects in Gwadar. The amendment is seen as a crucial step in ensuring fairness and transparency in trade practices, particularly in relation to foreign-funded projects.
