Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has raised the financial assistance from one lakh to four lakh rupees for those who have lost their mud built homes in recent hill torrents flood in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Faisal Farid said during the visit of flood hit areas in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday that mud built house were not included in the financial assistance package initially but now such house owners have been included in the package keeping in view the difficulties of the victims.
He said that survey will be conducted on the decrease of water in the area and financial assistance would be disbursed in a transparent manner.
The commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan told the Director General PDMA and DG Rescue 1122 Rizwan Naseer that another spell of rain have been predicted in the area from the 25th of this month which could cause further flooding in the area. He said that hill torrent Wadoor have received highest flood of its history which have damaged crops , infrastructure, and large number of local population.
