Salik Terms Establishment of Special Bench in IHC for Overseas Pakistanis as Positive Development


Islamabad: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has praised the establishment of a special bench in the Islamabad High Court tailored for overseas Pakistanis as a positive development. In a statement, he noted that this initiative aims to address the legal difficulties faced by Pakistanis residing abroad, particularly concerning their property issues.



According to Radio Pakistan, the move is anticipated to expedite the resolution of long-standing legal property disputes, providing a dedicated judicial channel for overseas Pakistanis. Chaudhry Salik Hussain emphasized that cases filed in this special court are expected to be resolved within ninety days, ensuring a swift and efficient judicial process that upholds the interests of Pakistani expatriates.



In a significant development, the Islamabad High Court established this special bench to assist overseas Pakistanis in seeking legal recourse for their property disputes. Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, appointed Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro to exclusively handle cases, appeals, and revisions submitted by overseas Pakistanis.
