Senate and NA Law Committees to Discuss 27th Amendment Bill

Islamabad: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced that the Senate and National Assembly’s Standing Committees on Law and Justice are set to convene today to deliberate on the proposed Twenty-Seventh Constitutional Amendment.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Chaudhry emphasized ongoing consultations with coalition partners regarding the amendment. He noted that the Pakistan Peoples Party has shown agreement on three specific points of the proposal. The minister further clarified that only those areas where consensus is achieved will be incorporated into the amendment.

The joint meeting will be co-chaired by the Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee, Senator Farooq H. Naek, and the National Assembly Standing Committee MNA, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk. This meeting marks a significant step in the legislative process as both committees come together to consider the contents of the Twenty-Seventh Amendment Bill, 2025.
