UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Meeting Commences in Islamabad


Islamabad: A two-day Third United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Meeting commenced in Islamabad on Tuesday. Pakistan and the Republic of Korea are co-hosting the event, which is organized under the theme “Towards a Safer and More Effective Peacekeeping: Use of Technology and Integrated Approach.” The meeting has attracted senior officials from the United Nations, dignitaries from Pakistan, and peacekeeping stakeholders from across the globe.



According to Radio Pakistan, the first day of the meeting featured comprehensive panel discussions focused on the evolving nature of peacekeeping operations and the role of emerging technologies in enhancing the safety, security, and effectiveness of peacekeepers on the ground. Participants engaged in discussions aimed at improving operational capacity through innovation, addressing threats in complex environments, and fostering integrated approaches for sustainable peace.



The deliberations underscored the importance of collaborative strategies to tackle the increasing challenges faced by peacekeeping missions worldwide. This event reaffirms Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and highlights its significant role in promoting international peace and security.
