Pakistan, China agree to enhance cooperation to counter security challenges

Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance their existing cooperation in defence and security domains to effectively counter common security challenges.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir and China’s State Councillor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Rawalpindi.

According to ISPR, both sides reiterated their resolve to further strengthen the time-tested, all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China.

Talking to the Chinese Foreign Minister, the Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to China-Pakistan Strategic relationship.

He also pledged full support for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, which is a vital component of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The Army Chief appreciated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan on regional and international issues.

Reiterating China’s commitment to timely completion of CPEC, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction over progress made on this project so far.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining regional peace and stability, especially the support of Pakistan Armed Forces for provision of security to Chinese nationals and projects in the country.

PM condemns Imran’s act to malign Army, Intelligence Agency

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said Imran Niazi’s act of routinely maligning and threatening Pakistan Army and Intelligence Agency for the sake of petty political gains is highly condemnable.

In a Tweet on Sunday, the Prime Minister said that his leveling of allegations without any proof against Major General Faisal Naseer and officers of our Intelligence Agency cannot be allowed and will not be tolerated.

NA Session to be held at Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday

The National Assembly will resume its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Two calling attention notices regarding “smuggling of counterfeit medicines through Afghanistan border” and “closure of construction work of Chitral, Buni-Shandoor road” are on the agenda of the Lower House.

Besides, the House may take up any matter of national and international importance.
