Affordable power rates vital to attain sustainable industrial growth: Gohar


Caretaker Minister for Commerce Dr Gohar Ejaz has stressed the need for ensuring affordable power rates for the local industrial sector.

In a press statement, the minister said it is essential for the survival of the industrial sector, which is a source of job creation, export production, and import substitution.

He emphasized for prioritizing industrial growth to stimulate economic prosperity by enhancing exports and making the local manufacturing sector viable to achieve ambitious targets in global markets.

President for enhanced cooperation between Pak-Azer audit institutions


President Dr Arif Alvi has said Pakistan accords special importance to its relations with Azerbaijan, which are based on common faith, shared history, and people-to-people contacts.

He was talking to Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan, Mr Vugar Gulmammadov, who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President called for increasing cooperation between the supreme audit institutions of Pakistan and Azerbaijan for sharing best auditing practices to enhance transparency and financial accountability.

He termed the cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan pivotal for promoting peace, stability, development in the region.

Interim Govt worked for promotion of democracy: Solangi


A farewell ceremony was organized today in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in honor of the Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi.

Speaking on the occasion, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi thanked the officials and staff of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for their cooperation during the interim government.

The Minister said the portfolio of Ministry of Information was a great honor and responsibility for him. He said we worked for the promotion of democracy and freedom of expression during caretaker regime.

Murtaza Solangi said he is also grateful to the heads of all the departments of the Ministry who extended their support to him during the caretaker government.

He also expressed the hope that the new Minister for Information will also continue to work to promote democracy and freedom of expression.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shahera Shahid appreciated the role of Murtaza Solangi as
Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs in interim government.

She said Murtaza Solangi took charge of the ministry at a difficult time and faced many challenges during this time.

The Secretary said Murtaza Solangi worked hard for democracy and freedom of expression in his short tenure.

At the end of the ceremony, the Federal Secretary Information also presented a commemorative shield to the Caretaker Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi.

Additional Secretary, Principal Information Officer, Director General External Publicity Wing, Director General Internal Publicity Wing and Executive Director General Information Service Academy also participated in the ceremony.

Security forces kill three terrorists in Karak operation


Three terrorists were killed and four got injured by security forces in an intelligence based operation in Karak District.

According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against Law enforcement agencies as well as innocent civilians.

Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
