President Zardari vows to protect national security, sovereignty


President Asif Ali Zardari has emphatically stated that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty.

Addressing Pakistan Day Military Parade at Shakarparian Parade avenue in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbors. We are a peace loving country and a responsible nuclear state. He however said Pakistani nation and its armed forces are always ready for defense of the country and respond to any aggression.

The President said we will not tolerate any efforts by the terrorists or any group to destabilize our country. He said today’s parade is a reminder of our unity, strength and pride. He said the world community recognizes Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the war on terrorism.

The President pointed out that the Indian illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is one of the main reason of instability in the region. He said the Kashmiri people have been demanding their right to self-determination for the last seventy six years.

Condemning the Indian brutalities and h
uman rights violations in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he urged the international community to ensure the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to always stand by the Kashmiri people in their just struggle against tyranny.

Alluding to the challenges faced by the country, the President said that a democratic government is in place following the electoral exercise. He said responsibility now rests with all of us to collectively address the challenges. Our people are hardworking and intelligent. He said the youth equipped with immense capabilities are the trustees of the country’s development.

He said Special Investment Facilitation Council has been established to improve the economy. He was confident that under this platform, foreign investments will develop the agriculture, livestock, minerals and mining, Information Technology and energy sectors.

The President also called upon all the political parties to rise above their political interests and
work collectively for the country’s security and prosperity.

Expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, Asif Ali Zardari appealed to the international community to take measures to ensure that the killings of innocent Palestinian people including children and women are immediately halted. He emphasized that ceasefire be announced and a humanitarian corridor is opened on priority basis. He said Pakistan will continue to support the Palestinian people till the resolution of Palestine issue as per their aspirations.

Info Minister calls for collective efforts to make Pakistan prosperous country


Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for collective efforts to make Pakistan a strong and prosperous country.

In his message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, he said Pakistan is a blessing that we got with great difficulty. He said we should value this blessing and play our part to make it strong and developed.

He emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and fostering unity to work towards shared national goals.

The Information Minister said Pakistan Resolution is a historical document which gave a new direction to the independence movement of Pakistan. He said this resolution created a new hope among the Muslims and encouraged them to struggle for their cause.

He said the Muslims under the leadership Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, rendered immense sacrifices for the cause of Pakistan resolution. He said we remember the sacrifices of our leaders and pledge to follow in their footsteps.

NADRA starts CNIC delivery to PWDs at doorsteps


The National Database and Registration Authority has established a helpline to provide computerized national identity card issuance service at the doorstep for people with disabilities.

According to the official, the Helpline 1777 functions for individuals with disabilities, offering assistance and guidance for home-based CNIC issuance procedure.

Pakistan National Day celebrated at Consulate General in Barcelona


A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Barcelona to commemorate the National Day of Pakistan.

The event was attended by various government’s officials, politicians, representatives of the Consular corps, and members of the Pakistani community, including women and children residing in Barcelona.

At the ceremony, the messages from the honourable President, respectable Prime Minister and esteemed Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read aloud .

Speaking on the occasion, the participants emphasized the importance of the struggle of the Muslim leaders especially Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, for achieving a separate homeland for the Muslims.

In his address, former senator Jose Maria Sala highlighted the importance of Pakistani community in over social, economic and political fabric of Spanish life. He assured full support and cooperation to the consulate in maintaining a secure and friendly environment for the Pakistani community members working in Barcelona.

Armed forces, CJCSC, Services Chiefs congratulate nation on Pakistan Day


The Armed Forces of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs have congratulated the nation on 84th anniversary of “Pakistan Day.”

According to a statement of ISPR, this historic day reminds us of the greatest sacrifices and contributions of our forefathers which they made in the struggle for creation of Pakistan.

The statement said plight of Muslims in India in general and IIOJK in particular, who are facing worst form of brutalities at the hands of the fascist regime, reminds us of the importance and value of the Independence where we cherish and respect our freedom every day.

It added that on this day, Armed Forces of Pakistan renew their resolve to defend the motherland and protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all times and at any cost, and uphold the national flag.
