Corps Commander Karachi visits residence of Lt. Col Syed Kashif Ali Shaheed


Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar arrived at the residence of Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali Shaheed and offered fateha for the departed soul.

Babar Iftikhar met the family of martyr and paid tribute to the bravery of Shaheed Syed Kashif Ali. He said Syed Kashif Ali’s sacrifice for the defense of motherland will be written in golden letters.

Punjab CM directs to start campaign to stop kite flying across province


Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over the successive incidents of kite flying despite the ban and directed to start a campaign to stop kite flying across the province.

In a statement in Lahore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to take strict action against those who violate the ban on kite flying.

The Chief Minister also sought a report from the IG Punjab on the incident of the death of a young man due to kite flying in Faisalabad.

Administrator USAID conferred Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam


The President of Pakistan has conferred Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam (Civil) to Administrator USAID Ms. Samantha Power on the National Day of Pakistan in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations.

She is proponent of strong Pakistan-US cooperation in humanitarian and socio-economic sectors like health, education and climate change and promoting people to people exchanges.

Thanking the people of Pakistan for the award, Samantha Power in her video message said that the award is a testament to the enduring partnership between USAID and the Pakistani people. She highlighted the support from the highest levels of the White House and both houses of the US Congress that facilitated an assistance of 215 million dollars to the flood affected people. She also highlighted the support from private American citizens and American companies who rallied to Pakistan’s aid, donating more than $37 million to support the relief efforts.

stan to improve water management systems, build markets for Climate Smart Agriculture technologies and techniques and mobilized climate adaptation finance under the US-Pakistan green Alliance initiative.

Congratulating Ms. Power on receiving national award of Pakistan, Ambassador to the United Statss Masood Khan said Ms. Power is a true friend of the people of Pakistan and the nation will never forget her humanitarian services at a time when we needed them the most.

Pakistan Railways to run four special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr


The Pakistan Railways will run four special trains to facilitate passengers on Eid-ul-Fitr.

Pakistan Railways runs special Eid trains every year to facilitate passengers heading to or coming from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Quetta.

A majority of those working in other cities, travel to hometowns before Eid and return to workplaces after holidays through these special trains.

Steps underway for providing relief to public during Ramadan: Tanveer


Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain says government is taking measures to provide relief to the public during Holy month of Ramadan.

Talking to newsmen after visiting a Utility Stores in Lahore on Sunday, he said public service is being done in Punjab, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’ dynamic leadership.

The Federal Minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has enhanced funding for Ramadan Package up to twelve point five billion rupees.

He said PML (N) believes in politics of action and provision of facilities to the public is the government’s priority.
