Anti-polio campaign begins today in eleven districts of Balochistan


Anti-polio vaccination campaign starts from today in eleven districts of Balochistan.

According to officials, the campaign aims to reach the children in Chaman, Dera Bugti, Hub, Lasbela, Nasirabad, Sibi, Jaffarabad, Kech, Khuzdar, Usta Muhammad, and Sobhatpur.

About 8,89656 children will be vaccinated during the campaign to save them from the crippling disease.

Likewise, the National Immunization Campaign for Polio begins in Larkana district today.

More than 306950 children of the Larkana district up to five years of age would be vaccinated with the Oral Polio Vaccine during polio campaign.

Reviving economy prime challenge for Govt: PM


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the electronic media to support government’s efforts for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Broadcasters Association, comprising Shakeel Masood, Mir Ibrahim, Mian Amir Mahmood and Sultan Lakhani, in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister said protection of media persons is the responsibility of the state. He expressed hope that the media, through objective reporting, would continue playing its role for strengthening and stabilizing democracy in the country.

The Prime Minister said fake news is a big challenge and the role of mainstream media is pivotal in checking this menace.

He said media is the fourth pillar of the state and electronic media’s role is cardinal in the development and progress of the society as well as mental and ideological training of the people.

Shehbaz Sharif further said he has assumed power at a time when the country is facing immense difficulties. He said bringing the economy back on track is the b
iggest challenge.

Talking about his government’s economic priorities, the Prime Minister informed the delegation that efforts are afoot to ensure privatization of loss-making state-owned enterprises, institutional reforms, internal and external investment and austerity. He said a committee has been formed regarding reduction of government expenditure, which will submit its report soon.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the federal cabinet has voluntarily foregone salary and other perks. He said services of international experts are being hired for the hundred percent digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue. He said leading taxpayers, exporters, and women entrepreneurs will be acknowledged at the government level.

The delegation congratulated the Prime Minister on assuming office and expressed good wishes.

Economic growth key focus for Govt: Azam Nazeer Tarar


Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar paid a visit to a Utility Store in Lahore today on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The Minister checked availability of daily use items and facilities being provided to customers at the Store. He also checked the rate list and inquired from the consumers about the prices and quality of commodities being sold there.

Speaking on the occasion, Azam Nazeer Tarar said improvement in country’s economy is foremost priority of the incumbent government.

He said the present government has given the biggest Ramadan Relief Package to the public in the history of Pakistan and daily use items are available for beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Program as well as general public under the package.

The Minister said Pakistan will move forward on the path of economic progress under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dynamic leadership.

FM reiterates Pakistan’s support for Palestinian cause


Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and called for an urgent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

He was talking to Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Jawad A. A. Rabei paid a courtesy call on in Islamabad today.

The ambassador also conveyed his warm wishes to the Foreign Minister on the assumption of office.

Japanese Ambassador Mitsuhiro Wada also paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister today.

Bilateral relations and collaboration in trade, investment, and export of manpower were discussed.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the longstanding development partnership between Pakistan and Japan. He also stressed the need to further enhance this mutually beneficial relationship in all domains.

Govt making all out efforts to reduce inflation: Pirzada


Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada has said that the government is making all-out efforts to reduce the electricity prices and inflation.

Talking to media, during his visit to the utility stores in Vehari, he directed the administration of Utility Stores to provide complete relief to the people of the district under the subsidy given by the prime minister.

Riaz Pirzada said that supply of cheap flour is being ensured.
