Senate elections: Tribunals to dispose of appeals regarding nomination papers today


Appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers for senate elections will be disposed of by the tribunals on Monday.

The revised list of the candidates will be issued on Tuesday.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by Wednesday.

Polling on 48 vacant seats of the upper house will be held on second of next month.

In the federal capital, National Assembly members will elect senators for one general seat and one seat for technocrats, including Ulema.

The members of the four provincial assemblies will elect senators, including seven for general seats, two for women seats, and two for technocrats, including Ulema, from each province.

One senator for non-Muslims will be elected each from Punjab and Sindh provinces.

KP Govt launches App ‘KP Transport’ for verification of driving license


Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched an App ‘KP Transport’ for the verification of driving license.

According to details, the App can be downloaded from Google play store where the license holders can easily verify their license after entering their CNIC number.

All the information related to license holders is available in this App.

Finance Minister lauds Punjab CM’s measures for social welfare


Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today.

During the meeting, they discussed country’ economic situation besides matters of mutual interest.

The Finance Minister felicitated Maryam Nawaz on assuming charge as first woman Chief Minister of the province, terming it a milestone.

He also appreciated Punjab Chief Minister’s measures for social welfare.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister expressed good wishes for Muhammad Aurangzeb on assuming charge as the Federal Finance Minister.
