Plantation drive started in South Waziristan


Plantation drive has been started in South Waziristan under the supervision of Pakistan Army.

The climate and soil of South Waziristan are highly favorable for forest growth.

South Waziristan has forests on an area of ninety five thousand acres.

With the help of Pakistan Army, planting of fifty thousand Chalghoza saplings has been started on 120 acre of land. Chalghoza on an area of one acre can generate an economic benefit of up to one million rupees annually.

Seventy thousand olive trees are also being transplanted free of charge by the Pakistan Army.

Pakistan Army and Forest Department are also working tirelessly to protect forests and prevent wood cutting.

Parliament to complete its constitutional term: Azma Bukhari


Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari says government will not tolerate and give concession to anyone who would try to destabilize the country.

Talking to a private news channel, she reaffirmed government’s commitment to punish all people involved in May 9 incident.

She said parliament would complete its constitutional term as PML-N always believed in practical work, rather than tall claims and false promises.

Jhelum, Jhang, Vehari and Bahawalnagar to be made model cities: CM


Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz says four cities Jhelum, Jhang, Vehari and Bahawalnagar will be made model cities in terms of cleanliness as part of “Clean Punjab” pilot initiative.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she underlined necessity of stepping up the campaign for cleanliness and directed to develop a systematic, effective and sustainable mechanism for implementing this campaign.

Rana Tanvir, Attaullah Tarar pay surprise visit to outlet of Utility Stores in Islamabad


On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanvir Hussain and Attaullah Tarar paid a surprise visit to an outlet of Utility Stores in Islamabad today.

They reviewed the prices and quality of items being provided on subsidized rates to the people during Ramadan.

The Federal Minister also asked questions to the citizens present at the Utility Stores.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanvir Hussain said special concession is being given to consumers at the Utility Stores under Ramadan Relief Package. He said the government is making all possible efforts to ensure availability of edible items during the holy month of Ramadan.

Rana Tanvir Hussain said edible items are available at lower prices at the Utility Stores and the government is determined to maintain these rates.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the government is taking measures to provide relief to the poor people during Ramadan. He said edible items
are being provided to the people on subsidized rates under the Ramadan Package announced by the government. He said special concession has been given on various items, including flour, ghee, and sugar.

The Federal Ministers also reviewed the provision of different items being supplied to the beneficiaries of Benazir income Support Programme under a special subsidy.

The Federal Ministers, on the demand of buyers, instructed to increase counters at the Utility Stores and expedite the supply of edible items for the people.
