Punjab CM approved provision of free eyeglasses, hearing aids to students

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the project to provide free eyeglasses and hearing aids to students.

Under the project, sight and hearing of students will be tested at schools and students with weak eyesight and hearing will be provided eyeglasses and hearing aids.

The screening process will begin at public and private sector schools soon. For this project, renowned institute ATscale will provide financial assistance worth 500 million rupees.

In this connection, a delegation of ATscale met the Chief Minister in Lahore today and appreciated the Chief Minister’s vision for public service.

Roti Price Reduced Further in Punjab

Following successful negotiations with the Punjab government, the Naan Bai Association has agreed to decrease the price of Roti from Rs 16 to Rs 15.

Sources indicate that the reduced price of roti will come into effect immediately, attributed to the ample supply of wheat and the declining cost of flour. This decision has been made after successful negotiations between the district administration and the Naan Bai Association.

A spokesperson for the Punjab government confirmed that the new price of roti will be prominently displayed at all tandoors, as per the agreement with the Naan Bai Association.

‘The administration, on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, is actively working to ensure the provision of relief to the masses,’ the spokesperson added.

Moreover, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also took to her X account to share the news. She stated that the Punjab government has reduced the price of roti further to Rs. 15.

Punjab Launches Satellite Internet in Schools

Punjab launched its satellite internet initiative in schools on Friday, aiming to bridge the digital divide. The pilot project was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at DPS Model Town.

During the signing of the MoU, a UAE delegation led by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum was also present. Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz engaged with students at the DPS Digital Lab, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enriching educational experiences through digital integration.

The MoU aims to provide satellite internet to thousands of schools across Punjab, bridging the digital gap. This collaboration highlights a joint effort to use technology for development.

During discussions between the two sides, the UAE delegation stressed the importance of satellite internet in improving digital access, especially in remote areas.

Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum shared his excitement for the project’s ability to support young talent and promote technological innovation. The partnership between One Web, ADM Holding,
and the Punjab government represents a united effort to fulfill the region’s digital ambitions.

Maryam Nawaz promised a digitally empowered Punjab, affirming the government’s dedication to providing laptops and satellite internet access to students. Senator Pervez Rasheed and Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb were also in attendance.
