The 49th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Saghar Siddiqui was observed today.
His real name was Muhammad Akhtar. He was born in Ambala at 1928. At the age of 19, he migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and settled in Lahore. Saghar Siddiqui started poetry at very young age. He continued to write poetry for the film industry and also published a literary magazine.
Saghar Siddiqui died at the age of forty-six on this day in Lahore in 1974. He was buried in Mayani Sahib Graveyard.
