Islamabad: The Apex Committee of Gilgit-Baltistan convened in Gilgit, with Chief Minister Amjad Hussain presiding over the meeting. Attendees included the Force Commander Northern Areas, Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Home Muhammad Dilpazeer, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Arshad Majeed, and Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Nasir Akbar Khan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on reviewing the overall security situation in the region and emphasized the need for effective coordination among all relevant institutions. Discussions also centered around the security of development projects across Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly highlighting the Diamer-Bhasha Dam.
The committee acknowledged and appreciated the welfare initiatives undertaken by the Pakistan Army in Gilgit-Baltistan, recognizing their importance in the region's development and security framework.
