PM calls for enhancing green cover to mitigate effects of fast urbanization

Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for enhancing green cover to mitigate effects of fast urbanization in the country.

He was addressing a groundbreaking ceremony of different development projects of Capital Development Authority in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister said the urbanization of major cities, including Islamabad and Lahore, have created the problems of pollution and traffic congestion.

He emphasized on preparing a new master plan of Islamabad, preserving green cover and forestation in the unutilized lands in the federal capital.

He said Islamabad should become an example in plantation during the current monsoon season. He said action is being taken against land grabbers in the federal capital.

India should be held accountable for crimes against humanity: Masood

Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has demanded that India should be held accountable for committing crimes against humanity, war crimes, and trampling international laws, treaties and covenants.

Addressing a conference titled “Lawfare Doctrine for Pakistan” in Islamabad today (Wednesday, he said the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris is being falsely portrayed as terrorism by delegitimizing the concept of self-defence or fighting for your rights, a canon which has been recognized by UN Charters and several UNSC resolutions.

PM appreciates performance of Digital Media Wing of Information Ministry

Prime Minister Imran Khan has visited the Digital Media Wing of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, who was also present on the occasion, briefed the Prime Minister regarding a comprehensive digitalization policy, under which national broadcasting institutions would be digitized in phases.

The Prime Minister was told that 11 digital media centers of the Associated Press of Pakistan fully equipped with modern facilities are being established in various cities of the country.

Imran Khan appreciated the performance of Digital Media Wing for highlighting Pakistan’s positive image at international level.

Provincial govt to enhance capacity building of all district hospitals of KP: Jhagra

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Taimur Saleem Jhagra says provincial government is planning to enhance the capacity building of all district headquarters hospitals of the province.

Chairing a meeting in Peshawar, he said in the first phase, six DHQ hospitals will be renovated.

The provincial minister said the government is serious about providing better health facilities and taking practical steps in this regard.

He said a maximum increase has been made in allocation for the health sector in the budget 2021-22.

The Minster said our first priority is the capacity building of existing health facilities to enable them for provision of best medical services.

FC soldier martyred as militants target water bowser in Hoshab, Balochistan

Terrorists targeted a water bowser through pressurized IED on M-8 near Shapak area of district Hoshab in Balochistan.

Resultantly, a brave soldier of Frontier Corps Balochistan, Sepoy Kifait Ullah embraced shahadat.

According to ISPR, a sanitization operation is in progress to apprehend the perpetrators of attack.

Such cowardly acts by inimical elements, backed by Hostile Intelligence Agencies cannot sabotage the hard earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan.

Security forces are determined to neutralize their nefarious designs even at the cost of blood and lives.

New Zealand optimistic of touring Pakistan after 18 years

The New Zealand cricket authorities have expressed the hope that their national squad will tour Pakistan this year.

According to the media reports, the New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive David White said the Black Caps will tour Pakistan before ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this year.

He said the New Zealand board is in contact with the Pakistan Cricket Board and officials.

T20 World Cup to be moved from India to UAE

The T-20 cricket World Cup will be moved to the United Arab Emirates from India due to coronavirus pandemic.

This was stated by president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Sourav Ganguly while talking to local media in New Delhi today (Monday).
