PM, Sri Lankan President discuss bilateral, regional issues


On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos today, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremsinghe.

During the meeting, discussion was held on matters pertaining to regional affairs as well as to promote trade between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, Lebanon vow to strengthen bilateral relations


Pakistan and Lebanon have reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen their bilateral relations.

The resolve was expressed during a meeting between Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and his Lebanese counterpart Najib Mikati on the sidelines of 54th Annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos today.

Both the leaders expressed their deep concern over the atrocities being perpetrated by Israel on innocent Palestinians especially women and children.

Regional situation also came under discussion during the meeting.

COAS vows to enhance defense with self-reliance, latest technology


Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has vowed to continue working for self-reliance and latest technology, ensuring reliability and strengthening defence of Pakistan.

The resolve was expressed during his address to the officers and staff of Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Wah today.

The Army Chief appreciated their contributions to the security and economy of the country by making POF the prime defence industry of Pakistan.

He said path to national progress is defined by indigenous and local industries like POF Wah.

General Syed Asim Munir also witnessed wide range of POF products including indigenously designed and manufactured new weapons and ammunition under test and trials.

ECP completes all preparations to hold general elections on Feb 8


The Election Commission of Pakistan has completed all preparations to hold polling for the National and Provincial assemblies on the eighth of next month.

Talking to PTV, ECP Spokesperson Syed Nadeem Haider urged the general public to exercise their right to vote on polling day.

The spokesperson mentioned that election symbols have been allocated to the contesting candidates, and the ECP is set to start the printing of ballot papers.

Syed Nadeem Haider also stated that Monitoring Cells have been set up at the provincial level as well as at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad to ensure the implementation of the election Code of Conduct.
