GB Govt to install PET Bottles Return Back system in two districts

The Government of Gilgit Baltistan has signed three MoUs with Nestle, PEPSI, and Coca-Cola for PET Bottles Return Back system.

Under the MoU, each company will install PET bottles crushing and baling unit in two district headquarters of GB. The companies will also establish collection points for PET bottles in urban centres of GB under the MoU.

GB Environmental Protection Agency will be the focal Agency from GB Government side, and CoRe will be the focal point from the companies.

The GB Government officials and top management of Nestle, PEPSI, and Coca-Cola attended the ceremony that was held in Islamabad.

GB Environmental Protection Agency will monitor and oversee the implementation of the process during and after establishment.

In a statement Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Mohyddin Ahmed Wanisaid that this PET Return Back system will help in the protection of the natural environment, prevention of pollution, and elimination of PET bottles from waste streams.

UNICEF reiterates to continue work with GB Govt for welfare of common men

UNICEF delegation held a meeting with Gilgit Baltistan Minister for Social Welfare, Population, Welfare, Women and Child Rights Dilshad Bano in Gilgit.

On the occasion they discussed about the problems faced by children of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Minister of Social Welfare, Population, Welfare, Women and Child Rights Gilgit Baltistan urged the delegation to work with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan regarding the protection of children, mental health and employment opportunities for the youth.

UNICEF Pakistan representatives reiterated their commitment to work with the government of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Caretaker Energy Minister calls on PM Kakar in Islamabad

Caretaker Federal Minister for Energy Muhammad Ali called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad on Monday.

Matters pertaining to Ministry of Energy and Petroleum Division came under discussion.

A detailed briefing was given to the Prime Minister on the measures to promote foreign investment in the mineral sector in Balochistan and other parts of the country under the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

The Prime Minister was also apprised about the reforms in the electricity sector and operation against electricity thieves.

The Prime Minister appreciated the steps taken by the Ministry of Energy and law Enforcement Agencies during the operation against electricity thieves.

Chinese President Xi appoints Jiang as Ambassador to Pakistan

Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed new ambassadors in different countries in accordance with a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, China’s top legislature.

According to the official statement, Jiang Zaidong is appointed new ambassador to Pakistan, replacing Nong Rong.
