Islamabad: Eid Milad-ul-Nabi ? was celebrated today with great religious fervor and solemnity. The day began with a thirty-one-gun salute in the Federal Capital and a twenty-one-gun salute in all provincial capitals, marking this important occasion with the customary show of respect. The day was observed as a public holiday.
According to Radio Pakistan, special prayers were offered after the Fajr prayer for the unity of the Muslim Ummah as well as the progress and prosperity of the country. The main highlight of the day was the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference held in the Federal Capital. This year's conference revolved around the theme of Protection, Development, and Character Building of the Younger Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Alihi Wasallam.
Milad processions were organized in all cities, where Ulema and Khateeb emphasized the various aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad ?, urging the public to adhere to his teachings and Sunnah. The celebrations were further enhanced as streets, roads, buildings, mosques, and houses were adorned with green buntings, flags, and colorful lights, adding a festive touch to this significant day.
