‘Federal Govt to continue protecting KP people’s rights’


Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the Federal Government will continue to play its due role in protecting the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people and ensuring the provision of resources for their welfare according to the Constitution, regardless of political differences.

In a statement, he said the Federal Government is fully capable to protect state institutions and public property.

School and College Timings Changed Due to Upcoming Heatwave


The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has issued a notification regarding new timings for all educational institutions under its control, effective May 20, 2024, until further notice.

According to the notification, single-shift institutions will operate from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the timing will be from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm.

The double-shift institutions will operate from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm in the morning shift from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the day will conclude at 12:00 pm.

The evening shift will commence at 1:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. However, on Friday, educational institutions will start classes at 2:00 pm and conclude at 6:00 pm.

For Pre-I (Montessori / Prep): 7:30 am to 11:30 am (Monday to Friday).

Ex-FG Colleges: 7:30 am to 1:00 pm / 4:00 pm (Monday to Thursday) – 7:30 am to 12:00 pm (Friday).

The decision was taken due to the predicted heatwave during the upcoming week.

RITE engaged in skill development in country


Rangers Institute of Technical Education is engaged in skill development in the country.

Various courses including relating to the art and craft, computer and dressmaking are conducted at the institute.

Currently, more than two hundred and fifty male and female students are receiving education and training under the supervision of expert teachers.

Rangers Institute of Technical Education is affiliated with National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and National University of Technology Islamabad.

4924 people who have so far received technical education from the institute are rendering services in various fields of life.

Water Supply Equipment Stolen From Lahore High Court Bench


The water supply system and motor turbine of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench were stolen despite being under the watch of security guards. According to an FIR filed with the Morgah police, the theft involved two tube wells located on the bank of the Soan River near the Hamrahi bus stand. These tube wells are essential for providing water to the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.

Tube well operator Ali Abbas Chatta detailed the events leading up to the discovery of the theft. On May 11, he completed his duty, and at that time, the tube-well was fully operational. The next day, May 12, was a Sunday and a holiday, during which the site was presumably left unattended. When Chatta returned to work on May 13, he was shocked to find that several vital components had been stolen. The stolen items included a turbine motor, motor foundation, panel boxes, a ten-foot motor pipe, tube well grill, angle iron door, window, 20 meters of copper conductor cable, chairs, valve, and pipe.

The police have registered a
case and commenced an investigation to identify the perpetrators and recover the stolen items. In response to inquiries, the police confirmed that the water supply to the High Court was temporarily suspended following the theft. They also mentioned that there was a supervision and maintenance watchman appointed by the Public Works Department (PWD) on behalf of the project director. This watchman was responsible for overseeing the site and ensuring its security.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the theft to come forward to aid in the investigation. The community and officials alike are hopeful that the culprits will be swiftly apprehended and that measures will be taken to enhance the security of essential public facilities.

The cadets visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid floral wreaths and prayed for the martyrs.

The cadets were also briefed about the key role of Pakistan Army for the country as well as military weapons and war exercises.

The participants were briefed about the various tanks. They were informed that Pakistan Army tanks are capable of repulsing enemy tanks.

Participants were also shown the practice of crossing a canal or river during combat situations.

The cadets appreciated the services of Pakistan Army.
