Pakistan has called for an immediate end to the decades old United States’ economic embargo on Cuba as it is putting debilitating impacts on the Cubans.
Addressing the UN General Assembly on behalf of G77, Pakistan Ambassador and deputy permanent representative to the United Nations Aamir Khan said the limited foreign investment and difficulty of access to development credits translate directly into economic hardship and humanitarian suffering for the people of Cuba.
Pakistan envoy expressed deep concern about the widening of the extraterritorial nature of the embargo on Cuba and rejected the United States’ reinforcement of the financial measures it has adopted to tighten the embargo.
