Punjab: The Punjab government has integrated the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) with the 'Dastak' mobile application, enabling citizens to access driving license services right at their doorsteps.
According to Radio Pakistan, citizens can now avail themselves of multiple driving license-related services via the Dastak app, thus removing the necessity of visiting licensing offices and enhancing public convenience. This development marks a significant step towards modernizing public service delivery in the region, facilitating easier access to essential services for the residents.
Officials have stated that with this integration, applicants can apply for a learner's driving license from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, services for renewing existing licenses have been made accessible through the app. This move is expected to significantly reduce the time and effort previously required for these processes.
Furthermore, the application process for duplicate licenses, in cases of loss or damage, has been streamlined via the app. The service also extends to international driving licenses, allowing citizens planning to travel abroad to submit their applications online. This comprehensive approach is anticipated to greatly improve the efficiency and accessibility of driving license services in Punjab.
