Solar energy to be utilized to meet energy crisis: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said power conservation is crucial and alternative sources including solar energy can be utilized to meet energy crisis.

He stated this during a high-level meeting in Karachi on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Khawaja Asif said office timing should be from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for power conservation.

On the occasion, Energy Minister Musadiq Malik called for reduction in import of petrol. He said at present electricity of 380 billion rupees being stolen would need to be controlled.

Sindh Chief Minister assured the meeting that he will take onboard the business community to take measures to save energy.
