Hot, humid weather expected in most plain areas of country: PMD

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most plain areas of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at few places in northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad twenty-four degree centigrade, Lahore and Karachi twenty-eight, Peshawar twenty-seven, Quetta eighteen, Gilgit and Murree seventeen, and Muzaffarabad twenty-two degree centigrade.

According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind and thundershower is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, partly cloudy and dry in Leh and Pulwama.

Temperature recorded this morning:

Srinagar, Pulwama and Baramulla seventeen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-six, Leh twelve, Anantnag and Shopian eighteen degree centigrade.

IRSA releases 431,200 cusecs water

Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Wednesday released 431,200 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 455,000 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, Tarbela Dam has already attained its maximum conversation level of 1550 feet and was 152 feet higher than its dead level of 1,398 feet. Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 202 cusecs while the outflow was 300 cusecs.

The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla Dam was 1186.15 feet, which was 136.15 feet higher than its dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow of water was recorded33,800 cusecs while the outflow was 10,000 cusecs.

The release of water at Kalabagh was recorded 298,600, Taunsa 608,200 and Sukkur 529,800 cusecs.

From River Kabul, a total of 161,300 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 29,700 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.

Saeed Ghani thanks Turkish govt for providing humanitarian aid to flood victims

Sindh Minister for Labour Saeed Ghani has thanked the Turkish government for providing aid on humanitarian grounds for the people affected by rains and floods.

He was talking to the Consul General of Turkiye Cemal Sangu who called on him in Karachi.

The provincial minister lauded the passion and love of the people of Turkiye for the people of Pakistan.

On this occasion, Consul General Cemal Sangu said that the government and people of Turkiye have a relationship with the people of Pakistan that is unprecedented. He said that in this time of trouble, the government and the people of Turkiye are standing with Pakistani brothers.

Pakistan Army continues rescue, relief operations in flood-hit areas of country

Pakistan Army continues rescue and relief operations in flood-hit areas of the country.

According to ISPR, 140 helicopter sorties have been conducted to evacuate more than 550 stranded individuals from various flood-affected areas.

Army helicopters delivered 29 tons of relief items including 6,140 ration packets and 325 tents during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 224 relief items collection points are functional in army Formations Area of Responsibility for collection and onwards distribution of relief stores while 5,213 patients have been treated so for in medical camps.
