Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has arrived in Washington D.C, United States to participate in the spring meetings of IMF and World Bank.

On arrival at the airport, Ambassador of Pakistan to United States Masood Khan and the officers of the Embassy of Pakistan welcomed the Finance Minister.

During his stay in US, the Finance Minister will meet IMF and World Bank officials. Meetings with international media and think tank representatives are also included in the Finance Minister’s schedule.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have felicitated Sikh community on the celebration of Baisakhi festival.

In their message on this event, they that this occasion gives message of love, happiness, peace and affection.

He said that Pakistan felt pride over its diverse cultural heritage.

The President said that Pakistan will ensure all steps to facilitate the Sikh community.

Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan acknowledged the contributions made by minorities in the progress and development of the country and is committed to safeguard the rights of all minorities.

In his felicitation message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Government of Pakistan and all the provincial governments are ensuring provision of all facilities to the Sikh Yatrees who were visiting their religious places in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif termed Baisakhi as the festival of spreading love and happiness.

Prime Minister proudly said that Pakistan was a beautiful blend of different faiths and culture
and the colours of Baisakhi further add to this beauty.

President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned joint session of Parliament on Thursday at 4:00 in the afternoon.

The session has been summoned under Articles 54 (1) and 56 (3) of the Constitution.

The previous notification for the joint session on Tuesday stands cancelled.

Punjab government has announced to fix price of Roti at sixteen rupees from today.

In a post on social media platform X, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said all relevant authorities at district level have been instructed to ensure implementation of this decision.

Asian Productivity Organization has awarded Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal with the prestigious Meritorious and Distinguished Award for his role to improve productivity.

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal will formally receive the APO, Meritorious and Distinguished Award 2024 at the APO Governing Body meeting held in Kuala Lumpur on 28th of next month.

The award will be given to individuals across the Asia-Pacific who have made significant contributions to productivity improvement.

It is an honor for Pakistan that Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has been selected for this prestigious award.

It should be noted that Ahsan Iqbal took over the Ministry of Planning for the sixth time in March this year.

He was also given the title of Mr. CPEC by the Chinese government for initiating and promoting the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

In the brilliant career of Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, several projects were launched including the large
st project of CPEC, Five Ease Framework, Four RF, five Economic Corridors of CPEC and National Center of Excellence.

Several infrastructure projects including the largest project of ML Railway project, Karachi Circular Railway Project, electricity, water, roads, hospitals in Gwadar are also part of his career.
