Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Gwadar under CPEC to be completed by Dec 2022

Pak-China friendship hospital Gwadar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Project at a cost of 100 million US dollar will be completed in Dec 2022.

Chinese government is financing the Pak-China Friendship Hospital being established over 68 acres of land which would be equipped with a modern medical facility for the people of the port city of Gwadar.

The project has been proposed for implementation of Phase-II of 50-beds hospital to be constructed under the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Business Plan.

The Hospital would create employment opportunities for the local masses as a total of 40 local jobs would be generated whereas civil work has started by November 2020 which was expected to be completed by December 2022.

According to official sources, one out of six medical blocks (each 50 bedded) along with 20 percent of the residential blocks were completed.

Under the proposed project remaining medical blocks, nursing and paramedical institutes, medical college, central laboratory, and other allied facilities would be constructed with a supply of medical equipment and machinery.

The estimated project cost to be executed jointly by the executing company and sponsors including GDA, financing Chinese Government Grant Supervising Agency, Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan, and Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

Planning Minister warns against new wave of Covid-19 variant Omicron in country

Minister for Planning Asad Umar has warned against a new wave of COVID-19 with new variant named Omicron in the country.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said there are clear evidence of a beginning of another Covid wave which has been expected for last few weeks.

The minister advised the people to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures including wearing face masks.

Meanwhile addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said the federal government has spent 250 billion rupees from its budget to procure COVID vaccines.

Asad Umar said as per its target, the government has vaccinated over 70 million people by December, 2021.

Responding to a tweet by a PPP leader saying the Sindh Province was unable to procure vaccine as per law, the minister said there is no law that stop any province from purchasing vaccines.

Asad Umar said that the country and the provinces cannot move forward without empowered local governments.

He said that 18th Amendment greatly increased the powers of the provinces.

Govt launches best health insurance project for welfare of masses: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has introduced exemplary health insurance project for the welfare of poor segment of society.

Talking to media persons in Multan on Sunday, he said each deserving family will avail treatment facility worth one million rupees through health card.

He said educated youth is being provided with loans of five hundred thousand rupees each so that they can earn their livelihood easily.

He said that ten dams are being built in the country which will help in producing cheaper electricity.

He said steps are being taken to ensure availability of Urea fertilizers to the farmers with providing required gas to the fertilizer producing units.

Three succumb to corona in country during last 24 hours

Three persons succumbed to coronavirus while 291 tested positive during the last 24 hours in the country.

As per the National Command and Operation Center latest statistics, 41869 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours of which 291 returned positive. The tally of positive case has climbed to 1,294,031.

Positivity ratio stands at 0.69 percent.

Crackdown against unvaccinated people continues across country

Crackdown against non-compliance of Coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures and unvaccinated people is continuing across the country.

According to details, teams are inspecting and sealing non-compliant shops in various parts of the country.

The teams of the health department vaccinated various people on the spot and also issued notices to unvaccinated people.

The corona vaccination drive and the implementation of the COVID-19 SOPs are underway in full swing across the Sindh province.

According to Radio Pakistan Karachi correspondent, the guidelines of National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) and Health Department of Government of Sindh are being implemented.

Various awareness programs regarding the corona vaccine are also being organized.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, actions against noncompliance of corona vaccination and violators of SOPs are underway across the province.

The officials of district administration along with health mobile teams visited transport terminals and Bus Stands of Various stations to check the Covid-19 certificates of passengers.

On this occasion several passengers were administered the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Similar actions were also underway in Abbottabad, Upper Chitral, and other districts of the province.

Two killed in Lakki Marwat road accident

Two persons were killed while four women injured when a motor vehicle collided with the trawler in Lakki Marwat on Sunday.

According to the Rescue 1122, the injured have been shifted to district headquarters hospital Lakki Marwat.

Terrorist commander killed in Bajaur IBO

A terrorist commander Ghafoor alias Jalil was killed during an Intelligence Based Operation in Bajaur district.

The terrorist was close acquaintance of Moulvi Faqir Muhammad and was involved in many terrorist activities.

During exchange of fire, one security official was injured.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were also killed in a clearance operation in Boya area of North Waziristan District.
