Death Anniversary of Ashfaq Ahmed Observed on Monday

Islamabad: The 22nd death anniversary of renowned writer, playwright, and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmed was observed today [Monday]. He was born on August 22, 1925, in Ferozpur, British India, and left an indelible mark on the fields of literature and broadcasting.According to Radio Pakistan, Ashfaq Ahmed wrote dozens of TV dramas and was the host of Radio Pakistan's famous programme 'Talqeen Shah' from 1962 until his death. His acclaimed PTV plays included 'Munchaley Ka Soda,' 'Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay,' 'Tota Kahani,' and 'Hairat Kada.' Besides his work in television, he authored several books, such as "Zavia," "Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay," "Gadariya," and "Tota Kahani."In recognition of his significant contributions, Ashfaq Ahmed was honored with the Pride of Performance and Sitara-i-Imtiaz awards. His work continues to inspire many in the fields of literature and broadcasting. Ashfaq Ahmed passed away on this day in 2004 in Lahore, leaving behind a legacy that remains influential.
