Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Yemen as per relevant UN Security Council and OIC resolutions.
He was talking to Deputy Foreign Minister of Yemen Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash in Islamabad today [Thursday].
The Foreign Secretary stressed the need for continued cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forums, including the UN and the OIC.
He conveyed concern at the security situation in Yemen and reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias.
The Yamani Deputy Foreign Minister while conveying his government’s appreciation for Pakistan’s support expressed confidence that Pak-Yemen relations would continue to grow.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi also met Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood met in Islamabad.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Pakistan.
They reviewed the multi-faceted Pakistan-Qatar relations, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues.
