Foreign Minister arrives in Riyadh on two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom. During the visit, he will meet his Saudi counterpart and discuss important developments in Saudi-Pak relations.

The Foreign Minister will co-chair the Joint Sub-Committee meeting of the Political and Security pillar of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council alongside his Saudi counterpart. He will hold meeting with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and will also have interaction with the local media and Saudi dignitaries.

The Foreign Minister’s visit will further deepen Pakistan’s engagement with Saudi Arabia for enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Govt renewed agreements with IMF to lessen burden on poor people: Dar

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the incumbent government is bound to fulfil the commitments made in agreements with International Monetary Fund by previous government.

Talking to a private news channel, he however said the government has renewed agreements with IMF to lessen burden on poor people.

The Finance Minister said the present government has also revisited foreign policy to strengthen relations with neighbouring and regional countries which were damaged by PTI government.

Replying to a question, he said the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and some other countries are taking keen interest in exploring business opportunities in Pakistan.

PM urges world to come together to create common charter for survival of planet

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the international community to come together to create a common charter for the survival of the planet.

He expressed these views during a meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the COP 27 summit in Egypt.

The Prime Minister thanked the people and leadership of UAE for helping flood affected people of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister termed the commitment of COP 27 as a good omen to combat the effects of climate change.

The two leaders agreed to work together on issues related to common interests.

Govt eliminated scourge of terrorism with support of armed forces: Tessori

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori says it is because of efforts and sacrifices of Armed forces that terrorism has been eliminated from the country.

Addressing a Launching ceremony of the book “Gumnam Sipahi” written by Hassan Ali Agaria in Karachi, he said Pakistan army restored peace by rooting out terrorism from Karachi, Wana, Balochistan and other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of Pakistan Council of foreign relations, Kamran Tessori called for joint efforts to project a positive image of the country in the World.

PM returns home after concluding China visit

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Pakistan after wrapping up his successful visit to China.

Earlier, upon his departure at Beijing Capital International airport, the prime minister and his delegation were seen off by the high-level Chinese authorities and officials of Pakistan embassy.

KP Govt to Build a Dam on Swat River

Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan, has ordered the concerned authorities to carry out a survey for the construction of a dam on the Swat River.

In this regard, he presided over a meeting of the provincial cabinet and said that it will not only produce electricity but also minimize the threat of flood by utilizing water for the barren lands.

The Provincial Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue (BoR), and Administrative Secretaries of several public departments also attended the meeting along with the provincial cabinet.

Furthermore, Special Assistant to the CM on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, briefed a presser and said that CM has also instructed the administration to conclude the current survey for estimating losses faced by flood victims in the province.

In addition, CM has demanded the removal of encroachments near rivers, streams, and water channels, so that losses can be prevented in the coming future, he added.

Besides, the provincial cabinet has also approved several decisions, which include the upgradation of tehsil Razar in district Swabi to a sub-division, paying funds and allowances to the local government representatives, and selection of a convener of Tehsil City Council (TCC) via elections.

Moreover, it has approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Conservancy and Biosphere Reserve Rules, 2022, in a bid to preserve biodiversity and foster its sustainable usage.

PM visits Interior Sindh, including Qambar & Shehdad Kot today

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Interior Sindh, including Qambar and Shehdad Kot today [Monday], to meet flood-hit people and review rescue and relief activities.

He will visit the relief camp established in the area, interact with flood affectees and pay an aerial visit of the flud-hit area in Shehhad Kot.

Meanwhile in a tweet, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that during his visit to Balochistan yesterday, he met with Assistant Commissioner Mach Ayesha Zehri and the officials and workers of NHA who are working diligently to restore highways, public works and infrastructure.

He said the entire nation including him is proud of these heroes of the nation.

Envoy Masood urges Pak-American community to help flood victims in Pakistan

Pakistan’s Ambassador to United Sates Masood Khan has appealed the Pakistani American community to generously donate for the flood victims.

Addressing a ceremony of Pakistan Day Parade in New York, he paid tribute to the efforts of renowned organization of Pakistani doctors in America “APPNA” and other organizations for helping Pakistani brothers and sisters in difficult times.

Speaking on the occasion, City Mayor New York Eric Adams expressed his grief over the loss of precious lives in the devastating floods in Pakistan. He said we should remember the families affected by the devastation of floods in Pakistan. He assured that US is with Pakistan in this hour of difficulty.
